Terms of Service

A reservation deposit is required at the time of booking and must be paid online to Med-Edu Peru Ltd (UK). This deposit secures your place on the program and initiates hospital, accommodation, and administrative arrangements in Peru.

You must pay the remaining program balance no later than four weeks before the program start date. This deadline is necessary because we must make advance payments to third parties, including host families, hospitals, and other local service providers.

If you need to cancel your booking, please notify us by email as soon as possible. The following terms apply:

The USD $400 reservation deposit is non-refundable under all circumstances once paid, as it covers administrative, coordination, and placement-related costs.

The reservation deposit may be transferred once to an alternative program start date, subject to availability, provided the new start date is within 24 months of the original booking date.

The reservation deposit cannot be transferred to another participant and cannot be refunded in cash.

Any additional payments made beyond the reservation deposit will be handled as follows:

If cancellation occurs before the program start date, any balance payments made will be refunded in full.

If the program has already begun, no refunds will be provided, and you will remain responsible for any additional costs incurred.

If you decide to curtail your program after it has begun, no refunds will be provided, and you will be responsible for any additional costs involved.

Requests to change program dates, duration, or accommodation must be made at least four weeks in advance and are subject to availability. While we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate changes, availability cannot be guaranteed.

You agree to provide all information required to arrange your clinical placement, including your CV, proof of vaccinations, travel insurance, and confirmation of your current student status or professional employment.

You are required to arrive punctually and participate fully in the agreed clinical placement and language lessons.

You must comply with the rules and regulations of all medical facilities and accommodation providers.

You are responsible for any damage caused at clinical facilities, elective centers, or homestay accommodation.

All clinical and patient-facing activities take place under the supervision of authorized healthcare professionals. Participants must not act independently.

If your behavior is disruptive, unsafe, or offensive, we reserve the right to terminate your participation with immediate effect. No refund will be provided in such circumstances.

Participants must also comply with the Medical Electives Peru Participant Agreement & Code of Conduct, which must be reviewed and signed upon arrival.

Travel insurance is mandatory for participation in the program. We include travel insurance covering health, accidents, and theft during your stay in Peru. If you choose to use alternative insurance, proof must be provided prior to arrival.

Classes and clinical rotations do not take place on Peruvian public holidays.

To deliver the program and comply with legal requirements, we may share relevant personal information with contractual partners, including hospitals, clinics, host families, and immigration authorities.

Program participants may occasionally be photographed or filmed for educational or promotional purposes. If you do not consent, please notify us upon arrival.

We aim to provide a high-quality educational experience and will make reasonable efforts to resolve any concerns promptly. Please notify us immediately of any issue during your program.

Payments for the program are processed by Med-Edu Peru Ltd (UK), while program delivery and on-the-ground services are provided by Medical Electives Peru EIRL (Peru).

In the event of a legal dispute relating to the delivery of the program, clinical placement, accommodation, or services provided in Peru, the matter shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Peru.

By submitting the booking form and paying the reservation deposit, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions, including the non-refundable but transferable nature of the reservation deposit.
