Why Live with a Host Family?
Living with a Peruvian family is one of the fastest ways to improve your Spanish.
Daily conversations at home help build confidence alongside hospital rotations and classes.
It also gives participants a more personal experience of life in Trujillo, with greater cultural immersion and support throughout their stay.
Many participants maintain friendships with their hosts for years after they leave.

Our Host Families
We work with a small group of trusted families in comfortable middle-class neighbourhoods.
Many family members are professionals, such as engineers, physicians, and university faculty.
You will have your own room and all homes have Wi-Fi and modern facilities
Visiting Family Members
Participants sometimes bring a partner or family member with them for some or all of their stay. Your family member can even choose to take a general Spanish course if they wish.

Are all participant rooms private?
Yes, all participants have their own room. You will not be sharing a room with another participant
What about the food?
Our families provide breakfast and lunch daily (Sundays, breakfast only). Lunch is the big meal of the day here, and it will be a variety of local dishes. The meals are something students continuously tell us they love.
The families are flexible and are accustomed to meeting any dietary needs you may have.
When can I arrive and leave?
You can stay with your host anytime from Saturday morning before your program begins. Our inductions are over lunch on Sunday, so ideally, you would arrive by then.
You can leave your host on Friday when your program finishes or the following day.
Will I have my own key?
You do have your own key and can come and go as you please.
Of course, we do ask that you are reasonable and respect the house rules of your host
Will there be other participants?
In each household, there are generally between one and four program participants.
All the families are located within a 10-minute walk of our center.

Are there washing facilities?
Yes, all hosts have washing machines you can use to wash clothes.
Do you have rooms with private bathrooms?
Yes. Our hosts often have rooms with private bathrooms.
