Health Care Management Internship & Spanish language

The Health care management internship program is a unique opportunity for undergraduate and master’s degree students looking to take a structured health care management internship abroad whilst also developing their general and medical Spanish skills.

Hospital Internship

The hospital internship takes place at one of our partner health care systems in the city of Trujillo.  Your time will be spent in one or more hospitals where you will have the opportunity to experience different aspects of management within a large health care system in Peru.

Most areas of the institution are available for you to work in including, human resources, public relations, statistics, compliance, customer services, facilities management, finance and corporate planning.

You may choose to intern in more than one area.

The internship involves both shadowing management staff and the completion of projects.  Projects and your plan of work will be finalized on your arrival.  However, before your arrival an outline plan will be developed with you, to help ensure your aims are met.

During the internship you will report to your preceptor, who is a senior hospital manager with a doctorate in health care management.

Medical or Business Spanish Program

Each afternoon you can take one of our language programs at our elective center.  These intensive program of 4 hours per day is a mix of grammar, vocabulary, conversation and pure medical Spanish or Business Spanish.
Health care management program participants have the option of taking either program at intermediate or advanced levels.

Requirements

This program has been designed for those taking health care management related university programs at under graduate and post graduate levels.
The minimum program length is 2 weeks.
Participants are required to have at least lower intermediate general Spanish on arrival.
